Now we cast our attentions backwards, to a trove of sepia images and thoughts of "who were these people?" Above we see
W G Brown himself, with his wife, in 1915.  To the left is the house, Monaltrie, that he built on the Berea, in Durban. Below is an undated group portrait of the staff of W G Brown in Durban. Grandpa Allen Ross receives a polo trophy, an interest passed down to his son, Neil (Dad), and finally Mum and Dad as the smiling couple embarking upon their long journey together at New Forest
